Teaching Creative Technology
Programming instructor for Mehackit 2016-2017
In 2016-2017, I worked as a programming instructor for the ed-tech Mehackit. I instructed a class of about 20 pupils at Viktor Rydberg gymnasium, an upper secondary school in Stockholm. In the fall we did a course in Visual art with Processing and in the Spring the students learned Electronics and programming through Arduino. The learning material was made by Mehackit and I added to it with Powerpoint presentations and learning support. I taught the students independently in the classroom with support from the school management staff.
The students were from varying backgrounds ranging from complete beginners to experienced coders. For me, it was a great experience to be able to inspire the pupils through Mehackit’s creative approach to coding.
The video above shows students’ works, where some are from my class. The top video to the right is a promo from my classroom and the bottom one is an interview I did with Mehackit summer intern Telma.
All three videos are produced by Mehackit, find them here!
